Welcome to Explore Cheshire.
Cycling allows you to explore the off the beaten track parts of Cheshire. While cars flash by on sterile motorways and A-roads these routes enable you to explore the quiet backwaters and hidden gems of Cheshire. Cycling gives you the freedom to stop when you want to, to admire the scenery, take in a point of interest, watch wildlife or have a break. Cycling can be fun, relaxing and good exercise.
Why Cheshire?
Relatively flat so that those new to cycling can enjoy the experience. Climbing even quite small hills can give you wonderful views.
Beautiful landscapes, peaceful villages, historic towns, with lots of country pubs and tea shops.
Plenty of cycle paths, bridleways and tree lined byways to keep away from the busy roads.
Rich in historic attractions, churches, castles, country houses and parks – and no parking charges to pay!
Experience the atmosphere of travel in an earlier age as you cycle the early packhorse salt routes, canal towpaths and cycle paths.
What you get.
A pack of carefully graded day-routes to enable you to choose the rides most suited to your own standards and interests. You choose the area or type of cycling that you want to do.
Each A5 size route booklet contains its own map, guide to places of interest, and independently checked route instructions. Packs come in a plastic zippa bag with an additional plastic pocket to protect a booklet while in use. By using small print runs, and because we regularly cycle these routes ourselves, we can regularly update the routes for new attractions and refreshment stops as these become available. This is backed up by a website which advises you on seasonal attractions and route updates.
