To celebrate Cheshire’s Year of Gardens 08 Tatton Park has commissioned local sculptor and environmental artist Lorna Green.
Lorna’s work entitled ‘Spring, Summer, Autumn, 1, 2 and 3’, take inspiration from the strength and beauty of Tatton’s deer and represent the lifecycle of the herd. Using branches from fallen trees and paint Lorna has created a modern sculpture in the Parkland by the Knutsford Gate Entrance.
Visit Tatton to decide if your perception of the landscape is altered by Tatton’s ‘something beautiful’

Quarry Bank Mill Styal
As part of the Cheshire Year of Gardens '08, the National Trust will open the 18th century Quarry Bank Garden to visitors for the first time. The garden has been undergoing restoration for 12 months since it was acquired by the National Trust at the end of 2006.
The valley garden contains fine displays of rhododendrons and other spring blooms and has delightful vistas, with the River Bollin running through the valley. Riverside walks, meandering paths and raised beds are some of the features which have been rediscovered during restoration work, reflecting the "picturesque" style of the original design.
